Oil Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation
Oil Pressure Switch/Sensor:
DESCRIPTION The PCM utilizes the engine oil pressure switch/sensor as a back-up system for energizing the fuel pump relay to turn on the fuel pump. If the PCM or the fuel pump relay is faulty and the engine is cranked, oil pressure will build and will energize the fuel pump relay and pump.
