Circuit Operation - With Center Console

The electronic PRNDL display feature indicates the Trans axle gear position to the driver. The PRNDL Control Module receives gear position data via the UART Serial Data Line (For more information on UART, see Computers and Control Systems) from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM reads the Transaxle position from the Park/Neutral Position Switch. Computers and Control Systems

The PRNDL Control Module also receives light dimming information over the UART Serial Data Line. This causes the PRNDL display to dim to the present dimmer control level with the Park Lights or Headlights in the "ON" position.
