Drive Axle Replacement


REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Unlock steering column, then raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove wheel assembly, then axle nut and washer.
4. Support lower control arm, then remove lower shock absorber nut and bolt.
5. Scribe all revolving driveshaft components in relation to connecting component to ensure correct balance upon assembly.
6. Remove output shaft flange to drive axle bolts as follows:
a. Insert drift through opening in top of caliper into rotor cooler vanes to keep axle from turning.
b. Using Posilock puller part No. 110 or equivalent push drive axle through hub.
7. Remove drive axle.

INSTALLATION
1. Install drive axle to hub.
2. Install axle washer to nut. Insert drift through opening in top of caliper into rotor cooler vanes to keep axle from turning.
3. Install drive axle to output shaft bolt.
4. Install lower shock bolt and nut.
5. Install wheel, then lower vehicle. Tighten to specifications.
