Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

Evaporator Module:






Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative and positive battery cables.
2. Recover refrigerant from the system.
- Service and Repair
3. Blower motor resistor harness.
4. Battery and battery tray.
5. Electrical connectors, as necessary.
6. Evaporator tube from evaporator.
7. Accumulator
- Accumulator HVAC
8. Coolant recovery reservoir.
9. VCM, or PCM.
10. Raise vehicle.
11. Right front wheel, and right front wheel house panel.
12. Evaporator and blower module screws and nuts.
13. Acoustic barrier (if equipped).
14. Evaporator and blower module from the vehicle.
15. Screws.
16. Case sections.
17. Core.

Install or Connect
1. Core.
- Add refrigerant (PAG) oil as necessary.
2. Case sections.
3. Screws.
4. Evaporator and blower module to the vertical.
5. Acoustic barrier (if equipped).
8. Evaporator and blower module screws and nuts.

Tighten
- Bolts and stud to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).
- Screw and nuts to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

7. Right front wheel and right front wheel house panel.
8. Lower vehicle.
9. VCM, or PCM.
10. Coolant recovery reservoir.
11. Accumulator.
- Refer to Accumulator HVAC.
12. Evaporator tube to evaporator.
13. Electrical connectors, as necessary.
14. Battery and battery tray.
15. Blower motor resistor.
16. Refrigerant to the system.
- Service and Repair
17. Battery cables.
18. Check the system for leaks.
