Ignition Cable: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Verify that the ignition system is off.
2. Remove the intake manifold cover.
3. Remove spark plug wires from the ignition coils.

IMPORTANT: Use care when removing the spark plug boots from the spark plugs. Twist the boots 1/2 turn before removing and then PULL ON THE BOOT ONLY to remove the boot from the spark plug. DO NOT PULL ON THE WIRE as this may damage the spark plug wire.

4. Remove the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
5. Remove the spark plug wires from the intake manifold channel.
6. Remove the spark plug wires from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the spark plug wires on top of the engine.
2. Install the spark plug wires into the intake manifold cover channels.
3. Connect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs. Make sure the boots are fully seated.
4. Connect the spark plug wires to the ignition coils.
5. Install the intake manifold cover.
