Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
2. Remove the 2 TP sensor attaching screws.
3. Remove the TP sensor.

Installation Procedure
1. With the throttle valve in the normal closed idle position, install the TP sensor on the throttle body assembly.
2. Install the 2 TP sensor attaching screws, using a thread-locking compound on the screws. Loctite 262, GM Part No. 1052624, or equivalent should be used.

Tighten
^ Tighten the TP sensor attaching screws to 2.0 Nm (18 lb in).

3. Install the TP sensor electrical connector.
