Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair

Tools Required:
J 38042 Dual O-Ring Joint Separator
J 39400 ACR 4

Remove or Disconnect

^ Recover refrigerant.
1. Cross car support brace.
2. Rear engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
3. Loose retaining clamp screw.
4. Accumulator inlet and outlet connections.
5. Retaining clamp screw.
6. Accumulator.

Install or Connect

1. Accumulator.
2. Retaining clamp screw.

Tighten
^ Screw to 6 N.m (53 lb. in.).

3. Torque accumulator connections.

Tighten
^ Accumulator connections 34 N.m (25 lb. ft.)

4. Rear engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
5. Cross car brace.
^ Evacuate, charge and leak test A/C system.
