Compressor Control Valve Assembly Replacement





REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
^ J 39500-B R-134a Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and Recharging (ACR4) System
^ J 5403 internal Snap Ring Plier

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Use the J 39500-B in order to recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Use the J 5403 in order to remove the control valve retaining ring.
5. Remove the control valve (3).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the control valve (3).
2. Use the J 5403 in order to install the control valve retaining ring.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Use the J 39500-B in order to evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
