Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the electrical connector at the cam sensor.
2. Remove the retaining bolt (1) and cam sensor (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Check the cam sensor O-ring for wear or damage and replace as needed.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the cam sensor (2) and retaining bolt (1)

Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Install the electrical connector at the cam sensor.
4. Operate engine and inspect the cam sensor for engine oil leaks.
