Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle and support.
2. Remove the electrical connector at the crank sensor.
3. Remove the retaining bolt (1) and crank sensor (2 or 3).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Check the crank sensor O-ring for wear or damage and replace as needed.
2. Lubricate the crank sensor O-ring with clean engine oil.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the crank sensor (2 or 3) and the retaining bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

4. Install the electrical connector at the crank sensor.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Operate engine and inspect crank sensor for engine oil leaks.
