REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: System pressure may still exist after you evacuate the system.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the system.
Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
3. Remove the drive belt.
4. Remove the electrical connectors as necessary.
5. Remove the compressor and condenser hose assembly.
6. Remove the compressor bolts.

7. Remove the compressor rear bracket bolts.
8. Remove the compressor from the brackets.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the compressor into the brackets.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the compressor rear bracket bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor rear bracket bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

3. Install the compressor bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

4. Install the compressor and condenser hose assembly.
5. Install the electrical connectors, if necessary.
6. Install the drive belt.
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
8. Add refrigerant to the system.
9. Inspect the system for leaks.
