Hardware Attachment Thread locking

Some production door hardware attaching screws contain an epoxy threadlocking compound to ensure that the original torque setting will be maintained.

The service attaching screws may not contain a threadlocking compound. Treat the threads of the fastener(s) with adhesive/sealant compound GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent for the following conditions:
^ To prevent loosening of the service screws.
^ To renew threadlocking characteristics of
^ production screws.

Upon installation and drying the adhesive prevents the fastener from backing out.

The adhesive bond does not prevent future removal if required.
