Service Port HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 34611-A Valve Core Remover and Installer




1. Remove the service port valve cap.




2. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly.
3. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant, A/C Recovery and Recharging.
4. Remove the service port valve core using J 34611-A.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: Lube the service port valve core O-ring with 525 refrigerant oil.




1. Install the service port valve core using J 34611-A.

Tighten
Tighten the service port valve core to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

2. Evacuate and charge the system. Refer to Refrigerant, A/C Recovery and Recharging.
3. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing. Testing and Inspection
4. Install the service port valve cap.
5. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly.
