Coolant Line/Hose: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Remove the air cleaner inlet duct (3).
4. Remove the throttle body.
5. Remove the EGR outlet pipe.
6. Remove the EGR inlet pipe.
7. Remove the EGR heat shield and EGR valve.
8. Disconnect right hand exhaust manifold and position aside.
9. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the water crossover.
10. Disconnect heater inlet hose from the water crossover.
11. Remove the water crossover bolts.





12. Remove the water crossover.
13. Discard the water crossover gasket.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Clean and inspect gasket surface (1).
2. Install new gaskets.





3. Install the water crossover.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the water crossover bolts.
^ Tighten water crossover bolts in sequence (1-6) to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
5. Connect heater inlet hose to the water crossover.
6. Connect the radiator inlet hose from the water crossover.
7. Connect right hand exhaust manifold and position aside.
8. Install the EGR heat shield and EGR valve.
9. Install the EGR inlet pipe.
10. Install the EGR outlet pipe.
11. Install the throttle body.
12. Install the air cleaner inlet duct.
13. Connect the negative battery cable.
14. Fill the cooling system.
