Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery negative terminal.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the electrical connector at the vehicle speed sensor (130).
4. Remove the retaining bolt (131) and the sensor (130).

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the vehicle speed sensor (130) and the retaining bolt (131).
Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
2. Install the electrical connector at the sensor.
3. Remove the safety stands.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
Tighten the terminal bolt to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
