EGR Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the electrical connector (5) from the EGR valve (1).
2. Remove the two EGR valve retaining nuts (4).
3. Remove the EGR valve (1) from the EGR valve adapter (3).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install a new gasket (2) on the EGR adapter (3).
2. Install the EGR valve (1) to the EGR valve adapter (3).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.

3. Install the two nuts (4) to the EGR valve (1).

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft.).

4. Connect the EGR valve electrical connector (5) to the EGR valve (1).
