Battery Replacement




REMOVAL PROCEDURE

NOTE: Turn OFF the ignition when connecting or disconnecting the battery cables, the battery charger or the jumper cables. Failure to do so may damage the PCM or other electronic components.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the positive battery cable.
3. Remove the battery retainer bolt.
4. Remove the retainer.
5. Remove the battery.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the battery into the vehicle.
2. Install the battery retainer.
3. Install the battery retainer bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 17 N.m 13 lb ft).

4. Connect the positive battery cable.

Tighten
Tighten the cable nut to 14 N.m 11 lb ft).

5. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten
Tighten the cable nut to 14 N.m 11 lb ft).
