Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the camshaft position sensor (1).




3. Remove the camshaft position sensor bolt.
4. Remove the camshaft position sensor from the engine front cover.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the camshaft position sensor to the engine front cover.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the camshaft position sensor retaining bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (88 lb in).




3. Connect the camshaft position sensor electrical connector (2) to the (1) camshaft position sensor.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
