Front Fender Replacement

Removal Procedure

Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

1. Apply tape to fender and adjacent surfaces.
2. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
3. Remove the hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the washer solvent container from the right fender. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
6. Remove the rocker finish panel. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement () in Exterior Trim.




7. Remove the bolts from the fender at the door hinge pillar.




8. Remove the bolts from the fender at the rocker panel.




9. Remove the bolts from the fender at the front compartment side rail.




10. Remove the bolts from the fender at the lower engine compartment side rail.
11. Remove the fender from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the fender on the vehicle

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the fender to front compartment side rail bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 6 Nm (53 lb in).




3. Install the fender to rocker panel bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 6 Nm (53 lb in).




4. Install the fender to door hinge pillar bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




5. Install the fender to engine compartment side rail bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 8 Nm (70 lb in).

6. Install the washer solvent container to the right fender. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
7. Install the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Install the hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
10. Install the rocker finish panel. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement () in Exterior Trim.
11. Remove the tape from the fender and adjacent surfaces.
