Fuel Level Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the fuel sender assembly.




2. Inspect the position of the fuel strainer (4) for installation.
3. Support the reservoir with one hand and grasp the fuel strainer with the other hand.
4. Place the fuel sender assembly upside down on a bench.
5. Disconnect the fuel sender assembly electrical connectors from the fuel sender cover assembly.
6. Pinch in the retainer tabs on the fuel level sensor assembly (5) and remove the fuel level sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the new fuel level sensor assembly (5) on to the fuel sender (2).
2. Connect the fuel level sensor electrical connectors to the fuel sender cover assembly.




3. Install the fuel sender assembly.
