Cylinder Head Tightening Specifications

Fig. 1 Cylinder head torque sequence:

Pretorque head in sequence shown in Fig. 1, to 36 ft. lbs. (5 m-kg).

Torque rocker shaft support nuts to 11 ft. lbs. (1.5 m-kg).

Loosen No. 1 bolt completely and torque to 14.47 ft. lbs. (2 m-kg). Then tighten additional 1/4 turn. Follow this procedure for remaining head bolts in sequence shown in Fig. 1.
