Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

ECU Preparation

NOTE: The testing of the different terminals is done by unplugging the connector from the ECU. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, should the test leads of the volt/ohmmeter be inserted into the prongs of the connector's terminals. It is therefore necessary to remove the connector protective cover, and to make all the electrical checks on the wire side of the terminals. Once the protective cover is removed, the pin numbers 1 to 35, will be visible.

Preliminary conditions:
Voltage checks - battery fully charged.
Ground checks - battery disconnected.

Fig. 16 ECU connector:

2. Remove the connector held in place by the clip.
3. Remove screw (3) and slide connector cover (4) forward, Fig. 16.
NOTE: When reassembling connector do not forget the rubber seal.
