Blower Motor: Service and Repair

Less A/C

1. Unclip front right side brake line from firewall.
2. Remove heater sound proofing.
3. Compress corrugated section of duct and carefully free end from blower housing. Duct is clipped to firewall and is not to be removed.
4. Disconnect blower wiring.
5. Remove clips from circumference of blower scroll housing.
6. Remove blower.
7. Reverse procedure to install.

With A/C

1. Unclip sound proofing shield along top edge.
2. Remove the following on appropriate vehicles:
a. Auxiliary air device on fuel injection engines.
b. Coolant expansion tank on diesel engines.
3. Remove nipple on upper right corner of shield and first clip along lower edge.
4. Loosen clips and remove blower to evaporator duct.
5. Remove 7 clips from circumference of blower scroll housing.
6. Disconnect electrical lead and remove blower motor assembly.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
