Selector Control

1. Remove air filter/air flow sensor assembly, then the ball socket (1) from selector lever (2), Fig. 7.
2. Rotate selector lever (2) forward to Park position. With help, move selector lever in the vehicle to Park position, while pulling selector cable (3), Fig. 8.
3. Rotate ball socket (1) to align it with ball (4) of selector lever (2).
4. Install ball socket on selector lever, Fig. 7. During this operation, the selector lever must not be moved.
5. Ensure selector lever in vehicle is in Park position and vehicle does not move.
6. Move selector lever to Reverse position. Do not touch the locking bar, then push lever against its stop. Ensure vehicle can be moved.
7. If the cable adjustment is unsatisfactory following steps 5 and 6, loosen ball socket (1), Figs. 8 and 9, by one turn. Repeat steps 5 & 6.
8. Install air filter/air flow sensor assembly and test.
