Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Coolant Drain Plug Locations:

Note: Engine should be cool to touch and pressure released from the cooling system.

Removal

1. Drain the coolant at the radiator drain cock or the engine block drain plug into an appropriate container.

30C Thermocontact Location:

2. Disconnect the thermocontact sensor wires.
3. Remove the thermocontact sensor.

Installation

1. Install the thermocontact sensor. Be sure to use a new gasket.
2. Connect the thermocontact sensor wires.
3. Using a new gasket reinstall the engine block drain plug, and tighten the radiator drain cock.
4. Refill the cooling system with the proper coolant mixture.
5. Run engine until operating temperatures are reached and check for leaks.
