Dimmer Switch: Service and Repair

Dimmer switch installation. Horizon, Omni, Charger & Turismo; Models w/Tilt Column:





HORIZON, OMNI, CHARGER & TURISMO

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then disconnect connector from switch.
2. Remove two switch mounting screws and disengage switch from pushrod.
3. To install switch, firmly seat pushrod into switch, then compress switch until two .093 inch drill shanks can be inserted into alignment holes. Position upper end of pushrod in pocket of washer/wiper switch. This can be done by feel, or if necessary, by removing lower column cover.
4. Apply a light rearward pressure on switch, then install screws and remove drills. The switch should click when lever is lifted, and again as lever returns, just before it reaches its stop in the down position.
5. Reconnect wiring connector to switch and connect battery ground cable.
