1. Excessive belt noise:
a. Loose belt.
b. Seized pump.

2. Excessive pump noise:
a. Insufficient air pump break-in time.
b. Hose leakage.
c. Loose hose connection.
d. Hose contacting other engine components.
e. Diverter valve or air switching valve inoperative.
f. Check valve inoperative.
g. Air pump mounting bolts loose.
h. Air pump inoperative.

3. No air supply:
a. Loose drive belt.
b. Leak in air supply hose.
c. Air hose fittings are leaking.
d. Diverter valve or air switching valve leaking.
