Valve Guide: Service and Repair

Fig. 28 Valve guide & guide bore oversizes:

1. Using pushrod of tool No. MD998115, push valve guide out of cylinder head with suitable press.
2. Ream each guide hole in cylinder head to oversize specification, Fig. 28.
3. Install new valve guide from top of cylinder head using tool No. MD998115. Valve guide should protrude from cylinder head .591 inch.
4. Measure inside diameter of new guide. Ream out if necessary.
