Remove parts in numerical order as shown. Before removing inner oil gear from outer oil gear place identification marks on gears for reference at installation. Before loosening silent shaft driven gear retaining bolt, remove plug on right side of cylinder block and insert screwdriver to prevent rotation of right silent shaft. Use tool No. MD998251 to remove right silent shaft rear bearing and tool No. MD998250 to install right silent shaft rear bearing.
Reverse procedure to install, observing following procedures:
1. Press fit oil seal into front lower case. Install drive gear shaft using tool MD998385.
2. Check alignment marks on back of silent shaft drive and driven gears before installation. Marks are in alignment when they come together.
3. Install right silent shaft into front lower case and temporarily torque flange bolt. Apply oil to silent shaft journal.

4. Place new front lower case gasket on cylinder block. Install front lower case while inserting silent shaft into cylinder block. Torque flange bolts to 9-10 ft. lbs.

5. Insert screwdriver through plug hole in right side of cylinder block before torquing silent shaft driven gear bolt.
6. Use tool No. MD998382 and tool No. MD998383 for crankshaft front oil seal installation.

7. Torque front upper case flange bolts to 9-10 ft. lbs.

8. Apply sealant to four places indicated when installing oil pan gasket.
