With SMEC/SBEC
The Hall Effect pickup, used on 4-135 and 4-153 engines, is located in the distributor assembly. The pickup supplies engine RPM, ignition timing data and, on turbocharged engines, fuel injection synchronization to the SMEC to advance or retard ignition spark as needed.
