Clutch Switch: Testing and Inspection

Clutch Switch Test (Manual Transmission Only)

1986-87 Mini-Vans/Wagons

1. Turn ignition and speed control switches to the On position.
2. Connect a suitable voltmeter between ground and electronic module connector pin No. 4.
3. Depress brake pedal and ensure voltmeter indicates 12 volts when stop lamps illuminate.
4. Release brake pedal and depress clutch pedal and ensure voltmeter indicates 6 volts.
5. If voltmeter readings are not as indicated, adjust or replace clutch switch as necessary.
