1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove heatshield clamp, then the heatshield if equipped.
3. Loosen air pump tube at exhaust manifold, then position tube bracket away from starter motor.
4. Disconnect battery cable at starter motor and solenoid leads at solenoid.
5. Remove starter to flywheel housing and rear bracket to engine or transaxle attaching bolts.
6. Remove starter.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
