1986-87 MINI-VANS/WAGONS

The electronic module is rarely the cause of erratic system performance and should not be replaced if speed can be maintained within 5 mph of the selected speed on a level road.
1. Connect negative lead of a voltmeter to chassis ground and positive lead to pin No. 7 of module electrical connector.
2. While driving vehicle at 40-50 mph, turn speed control switch to On position and ensure voltmeter indicates 12 volts.
3. Press and release speed control Set button and ensure voltmeter indicates a fluctuating 5-9 volts. If system is not controlling throttle to maintain "set" speed, replace electronic module.
