NS-8B Check Spark Control Wire For Open Circuit


Complete No Start Test 8, Step A, before proceeding.

1. Disconnect 60-way SMEC electrical connector, then turn ignition switch Off.
2. Remove jumper wire from terminal No. 34 of SMEC connector.
3. Disconnect SMEC 14-way electrical connector, then connect one lead of an ohmmeter to terminal No. 34 of SMEC 60-way connector, and other lead to terminal No. 13 of SMEC 14-way connector.
4. If ohmmeter shows continuity, check terminal No. 13 of 14-way connector for damage that would cause a poor connection. If connector is good, replace SMEC.
5. If ohmmeter shows no continuity, locate and repair open circuit in yellow wire.
