1. Connect DRBII and MMC adapter into diagnostic connector, Fig. 3.
2. Once connected, the DRBII will perform a self-test. Do not touch the keypad during the self-test. If the message ``Ram Test Failure'' is displayed, the DRBII is defective and must be repaired.
3. After the self-test, identification logos will be displayed, then the display will read ``Select Model Year, 1989.'' Press the Yes key.
4. The display will now read ``Select System Engine.'' Press the Yes key. From this point on, pressing the No key will return display to the previous screen.
5. After a few seconds the display will read ``Select Engine, 1.8L MPI.'' Press the F1 or F2 key until the engine to be tested is displayed, then press the Yes key.
6. The display will now read ``Select Certification, California.'' Press the F1 or F2 key to select California or Federal standards, then press the Yes key.
7. Follow the instructions outlined under ``Test Procedures'' and refer to wiring diagrams.
