Air Conditioning Switch: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect the harness connector for the A/C switch.

Testing The A/C Switch:

2. Connect a jumper wire between the electrical harness connector terminals, as shown.

3. Turn ON the blower switch.

4. Listen for the engagement of the A/C compressor clutch when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position without cranking the engine.

5. If the clutch does not engage, check for faults with the thermostat, water temperature switch, wiring or the A/C system fuse.

6. If the clutch engages, replace the A/C switch.
