Fault Messages Pertaining to Speed Control and Charging System

Fault Messages are short descriptions of either a defective condition that exists or a circuit that is malfunctioning.

FAULT MESSAGE DESCRIPTION

+ VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL No distance sensor signal detected during road load conditions.

S/C SERVO SOLENOIDS Open or shorted condition detected in the speed control vacuum or vent solenoid circuits.

ALTERNATOR FIELD CKT An open or shorted condition detected in the alternator field control circuit.

BATTERY VOLTAGE HIGH Battery voltage sense input above target charging voltage during engine operation.

CHARGING OUTPUT LOW Battery voltage sense input below target charging voltage during engine operation and no significant change in voltage detected during active test of alternator output.
