MAP Sensor Contaminated By Rust - 3.0L MMC Engine

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
On some 1992 AS-Body vehicles equipped with 3.0L MMC engine, the "Check Engine" lamp may come on and "MAP voltage too high", "MAP voltage too low", or "MAP slow to change" can be read on the DRB II Scan Tool.
DIAGNOSIS:
1. Vehicle on board diagnostics are checked with MDS or DRB II Scan Tool and indicate "MAP voltage too high", "MAP voltage too low", or "MAP slow to change".
2. Visually inspect the MAP sensor hose and wiring to ensure proper installation.
3. Perform the tests in the 1992 Powertrain Diagnostics Procedures Manual (Service Publication # 81-699-0216) to verify the MAP sensor is not operating correctly.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacement of the MAP sensor, MAP sensor hose, and the vacuum tree on 1992 AS-Body vehicles equipped with 3.0L MMC engine.
1. Remove the MAP sensor, MAP sensor hose, and the vacuum tree.
2. Install the new MAP sensor (PN 4686181), MAP sensor hose (PN 5234318), and the vacuum tree (PN 4612456).
3. Use the DRB II to erase the stored diagnostic trouble codes and perform the applicable verification tests to ensure the repair has corrected the condition.
