Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Automatic Transaxle

INTERLOCK OPERATION
This vehicle has an interlock system. The system prevents shifting the vehicle out of Park unless the ignition lock cylinder is in the Off, Run or Start position. In addition, the operator cannot rotate the key to the lock position unless the shifter is in the park position.

CIRCUIT OPERATION
The Power Distribution Center ([1][2]PDC) supplies battery voltage to the starter motor solenoid through circuit T40 when the coil side of the starter motor relay energizes. Circuit T40 contains a 30 amp maxi fuse, and feeds the contact side of the starter motor relay. Both the 30 amp maxi fuse and the starter motor relay are located in the PDC.

The ignition switch supplies battery voltage to the coil side of the starter motor relay on circuit A41 when the key is moved to the START position and the [1][2]PARK/NEUTRAL switch is closed. Ground for the coil side of the starter motor relay is supplied by the PARK/NEUTRAL switch, which is case-grounded.

Circuit AO (battery positive cable) supplies battery voltage to the starter motor when the solenoid energizes.
