Distributor Assembly:
PURPOSE The Optical
Distributor sends engine speed and crankshaft position signals to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). These signals are used to control
ignition timing, fuel injection, and
idle speed. SEE
IGNITION PICK-UP (OPTICAL) OPERATION.
Distributes coil secondary voltage to correct
spark plug cable, through rotor and
distributor cap.
