Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

VEHICLE SPEED AND DISTANCE - PCM INPUT
The PCM receives a signal from the TCM and the transaxle output speed sensor over the bus communication line.

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) supplies the road speed and distance traveled inputs to the PCM. From these inputs and the input from the Throttle Position Sensor, the PCM determines acceleration and deceleration rates. The speed control software in the PCM uses vehicle speed and acceleration to control to the set speed.
