Variable Induction Control Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Tie the upper radiator hose back to gain access to the Manifold Tuning Valve (MTV).
3. Remove the 3 bolts from the rear power steering bracket.

4. Remove the bracket (Fig. 18).

5. Remove the 2 bolts from the MTV (Fig. 19).

NOTE: When removing the MTV do not loose the spring that is between the valve and intake manifold.

6. Remove the MTV.

7. Disconnect the electrical from the MTV and bracket (Fig. 20).

INSTALLATION
1. Connect the electrical connector to the MTV and bracket (Fig. 20).

NOTE: When removing the MTV do not loose the spring that is between the valve and intake manifold.

2. Install the MTV Align the slot in the valve with the tab on the intake manifold. Do not forget to install the spring.
3. Install the 2 bolts to the MTV (Fig. 19).
4. Install the bracket (Fig. 18).
5. Install the 3 bolts for the rear power steering bracket.
6. Untie the upper radiator hose.
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
