Input Unit Parts

1. Check input drum for wear or damage, see image. Roll pins are angled. Do not attempt to straighten.

2. Install input drum on the reaction sun gear.

3. Check input sun gear splines and teeth for damage or wear. Install gear into case with chamfered side facing upward.





4. Check input carrier assembly. Pinion pins must be tight and not rotate. Check pinions for rough operation, tilt or other damage. Pinion endplay should be .24-.69 mm (.009-027 inch), see image.

5. Check both four (4) tanged thrust washers for wear or damage.

6. Install smaller input carrier to input sun gear four (4) tanged thrust washer on the pinion side of input carrier and retain with petroleum jelly. Install larger input carrier to input internal gear four (4) tanged thrust washer on the input carrier and retain with petroleum jelly, see image above step one.





7. Install input carrier into case, see image.

8. Check input internal gear for cracks or other damage. Install input internal gear into case.
