Powertrain Management: Tools and Equipment

The Following Tools Are Recommended For Diagnosis:
- Dwell Meter
- Tachometer
- Test light
- Ohmmeter
- Digital
- Voltmeter With 10 Megohms Impedance
- Vacuum Gauge/Vacuum Pump
- Jumper Wires

NOTE: Most dwell meters are compatible with this system. If engine operation changes when a dwell meter is connected to the mixture control solenoid, use a different meter. Meters with three leads are more likely to be able to measure solenoid dwell correctly than meters with two leads.
