Ignition Switch

Fig. 2 Ignition switch (typical):

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Position ignition key in off-unlock position on standard columns, or ACC on tilt columns.
3. Remove lower portion of instrument panel, then toe-pan trim cover.
4. Remove shift indicator cable clip from shift bowl, if equipped with column shift.
5. Loosen toe-pan clamp bolts, then remove switch attaching screws.
6. Disconnect electrical wiring from switch, then remove switch from steering column.
7. Position new switch slider in same position as old switch slider, Fig. 2.
8. Install new switch.
