Revised Differential Case Assembly Procedure

1982-2002 Chevrolet Camaro
1982-2002 Pontiac Firebird

This bulletin is being issued to revise the Differential Case Assembly procedure in the Rear Drive Axle sub-section of the Service Manual. Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information.

The following information has been updated within SI for the 1998 through 2002 model years. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.

When removing the side differential case bearings, you may discover that recommended tool J 22888-20A does not work because some limited-slip differential cases do not have notches for the jaws of the puller. Use tool J 34168 to press the bearing off the case.
