Assemble
TRANSMISSION CASE1. Check 3-4 accumulator spring, piston and pin for damage. Install a new Teflon seal onto 3-4 accumulator piston.
2. Install 3-4 accumulator pin into transmission case.
3. Install 3-4 accumulator piston and spring into transmission case.
4. Install eight check balls into locations shown in Figure.
5. Install gasket marked "C" onto transmission case and spacer plate, onto control valve assembly.
6. Install gasket marked "B" onto spacer plate.
7. Check 1-2 accumulator housing, spring, piston and plate for damage. Install 1-2 accumulator plate and gasket into control valve assembly.
8. Install 1-2 accumulator spring onto plate. Install a new Teflon seal onto 1-2 accumulator piston.
9. Install 1-2 accumulator piston with piston dome upward into 1-2 accumulator housing.
10. Install 1-2 accumulator assembly into control valve assembly.
11. Install and torque bolts to 8 ft lbs (12 Nm).
12. Lubricate and install three check balls into control valve assembly.
13. Remove guide pins from control valve assembly.
14. Install control valve assembly onto transmission case. Ensure alignment of manual valve with detent lever. It is possible during assembly to position manual valve too far into the valve body and still connect lever to it, which will then prevent valve body from fitting properly onto the transmission case.
15. Install control valve to transmission case bolts except for throttle lever, bracket assembly, inside manual detent roller, spring assembly and clip bolts.
16. Install signal oil pipe into control valve assembly.
17. Check inside manual detent roller and spring assembly for damage.
18. Install inside manual detent roller and spring assembly, positioning tang into control valve and roller onto inside de tent lever.
19. Check throttle lever and bracket assembly for damage.
20. If removed install spring onto top of lifter, then lifter spring onto throttle bracket
21. Install link onto throttle lever. Ensure link is hooked as shown in Figure.
22. Install throttle lever and bracket assembly, positioning slot into bracket with roll pin. Align lifter through valve body and link through T.V. linkage case bore and secure with bolt.
23. On vehicles equipped with computer command control, install 4-3 pressure switch and bolt onto transmission case.
24. Lubricate and install filter intake pipe O-ring onto intake pipe.
25. Install filter into pump bore.
