A/T - THM 200/200C No Reverse

SUBJECT: THM 200/200C

PROBLEM:
No reverse. Upshifts are good, and vehicle has engine braking in manual low.

POSSIBLE CAUSE:




Sticking low overrun clutch valve. The valve may be free, but have a piece of foreign material in the bore not allowing the valve to fully stroke.

SOLUTION:

Service Procedure:

1. Remove the valve body assembly from the transmission.

2. Remove the checkballs from the valve body

3. Drain off excess oil and visually inspect for sticking valves.

4. Dis-assemble valve body and visually check the low overrun clutch valve for nicks, burrs, or foreign material.

5. If it cannot be freed up, replace the valve body assembly.
