A/T - 200C Coastdown Clunk Condition

COMPLAINT:
A 2-1 COASTDOWN CLUNK CONDITION on 1984-85 THM 200 C - equipped vehicles
CAUSE:
- Excessive Engine Idle Speed
- Excessive Differential Back-lash
- Wear on Spline in Reverse Internal Ring Gear
- Governor oil not exhausting fast enough through spacer plate orifice
CORRECTION:
Drill separator plate with a 9/64 or 3/16 inch drill bit See Figure 1.
Governor check ball not releasing fast enough; remove spring from governor thicker weight Primary weight. See Figure 2.
