Input Shaft

DISASSEMBLE
1. Using press and split plate tool No. J-22912-01, or equivalent, remove front bearing, then the rear bearing fourth gear, third and fourth synchronizer assembly and third gear simultaneously.

2. Remove remaining input shaft components.

ASSEMBLE
1. Apply engine oil to thrust surfaces on all gears, then install needle bearing, third gear and block ring.

2. Match inserts of third and fourth gear sleeves and hub with groove on blocker ring, then use press to assemble sleeve, collar and hub assembly. Apply engine oil to final assembly.

3. Install needle bearing and blocker ring, then the fourth gear and thrust washer with washer recess facing toward fourth gear.

4. Using bearing installation tool No. J-33374, or equivalent, install front and rear bearings and press into place.
